here's an easy ???
hi
what model numbers would have the same exact doors as my 88 420sel 88-91 300sel 77-85 300sd 90-91 350sd 81-85 380sel 84-85 500sel i'm looking to put vent shades on my windows. the front doors are ok but the rear doors don't have a model number. but it would seem to me that the 126 bodies should be the same...right?? thanks for all your input craig

Craig,
The 126 sedans should all share the same front doors and all the SELs/SDLs will share the same rear doors. SD/SE doors will not fit an SEL chasis.

Only consider the 81-85 300SD for front doors. The 78-80 300SD was of the W116 body style.

mike let me ask you... isn't the SDL the long version and wouldn't the doors be somewhat longer?
i guess what i need to know is regarding the rear doors on my 420sel what other model would have the same door? the vent shades i'm looking at are installed in the window channel. no tape so the window channel really needs to be exact. even if i have to mix the front and back on model #'s thanks mike

Craig,
The 126 SDLs and SELs all share the same body. The doors are longer on them due to the extra 4-6 inches of leg room for the rear seat passengers. Again, any 126 SEL/SDL, regardless of engine type or size, will work. Hope the clarifies it. Mike
