88 300e idle air control valve

88 300e idle air control valve

Hey guys, can you tell me if the idle air control valve should have a small gap like in the picture posted below? When I pulled the valve off to clean it I noticed a small gap, when I hit with 12 volts it does open all the way no problem. Just want to make sure thats correct.
