Anyone know the low down on whether a 1998 C230 uses a power steering filter.

I went to FASTLANE and saw the power steering filter part# and price, however when I look into my power steering reservoir their doesn't appear to be room to pull the filter out of the top opening. And i cannot tell if what I am looking at in my unit is the filter pictures at FASTLANE

My pump appears to be manufactured by LUK as opposed to a ZF unit.
