A few things for Steve and Doc to consider (your reactions please)
On the AIR test: When you start a cold engine, the AIR pump runs for about 2 minutes after startup. After a period that seems to me to be about 1 minute or so, you hear the AIR pump run for a few seconds. I believe that this is the engine control unit testing the AIR system, wouldn't that complete the test? Or is that unusual because the car is idling and noramlly has to wait for an optimum time to do it on the road?
I also thought that the EGR test was done fairly quickly after startup, within 5 minutes or so.
