Instrument Cluster Removal

1989 300 E with a burned out instrument cluster light.

Simply, what is the easiest way to pull the cluster out to change the light?

Some suggest a puller while others suggest going into the dash by the left speaker. Sounds like a lot of work to me!

There is very little room to use a tool to pull the cluster out through the front. Someone suggested a coat hanger but should a mercedes puller (tool) be used instead?
