Fuel distributor O ring removel.

It looks like the fuel dist. is screwed on through the bottom of the air intake.Is this how it is removed?

nah, on the top you will see three slotted head screws.

mbshop: The 3 screws need a star shape tool to remove them.Do you know what size tool i need? Also what will i see when i remove the dist. will any springs or other parts fall out?

ok, you have newer style. i think its t15. will have to check
for sure tomorrow.
nothing should fall out. the piston is held in by a tab.
what are you trying to accomplish?
you talking about the dist to housing seal?

MBSHOP: I just replaced all 8 fuel injectors and seals and now it is leaking fuel between the fuel dist. and the air intake housing.I checked all other fittings and they are o.k. the two O rings for the E H A were replaced recently.I don't understand why this is happening.Thanks for your help.

The fuel distributor has internal o-rings, if you disassemble it. However, there is no fuel transfer point between the fuel distributor and the airflow meter housing, and therefore no place where a leak could occur. Where do you see the fuel that has leaked?

I suppose what you are seeing is fuel leaking from between the FD and the AFM?

There is a large sealing O-ring between the FD and AFM.

The FD is not screwed into the AFM.It is attached to the AFM via 3 Torx bolts.

Having had the experience of taking a fuel distributor apart, I don't see how fuel could leak from between the FD and the AFM.

Unless it is the EHA that is leaking and makes it seem like the fuel is coming from the FD.

Although your EHA O-rings have been changed, it would be good to take a look at it again just to be sure.

Take the FD off the AFM and inspect closely and see what you find.

A little leak from the FD itself (from the piston in the middle with the airflow plate pushed down) is normal.

There shouldn't be any other leaks in this area, especially from the exterior of the FD.

Take a closer look and let us know what you see.

Azhari and others: Went to the dealer and purched a new O ring. After removing FD from the AFM i found that the O ring was split in half. I replaced it with a new one and ran car for 20 min. and no leaks. I just don't understand why this leak happened only after replacing the injectors. Thanks for all your help.
