Wheel bearings bad??
I have been having a clicking noise from my front right wheel everytime it hits a bump in the road. I had the tire off and didnt see anything broken. I just had the tires rebalanced at NTB and i asked them to take a look at that front right wheel for any problems. They told me that i needed wheel bearings, this was causing the noise. Then he says " ah you know mercedes, they do some strange stuff with those cars". Not sure what that means but would the clicking be a wheel bearing? I thought that would be a moaning or whining sound. Also when I had the car jacked up the other day i found no movement in the wheel, which was how i thought you could diagnose the wheel bearing as a problem.
Any hints here would be greatly appreciated, i just want to figure out this clicking noise. Thanks a lot! Josh

I doubt you have bad wheel bearings. You're right that it should rather give a moaning or rumbling sound.
Though it's hard to diagnose noises on this forum, check all the suspension components. Some noises that sound as though they're transmitted through the body could be from loose components other than suspension components on the car. Not all bad bearings have play in them. At the early stages of spalling bearings can still maintain original clearances. Only advances stages of failure cause loose bearings.

Sway bar end links?
I had a similar problem in my 1988 735i. Turned out that the sway bar end link was bad - causing a metal"clink" whenever I wnet over speed bumps or medium bumps in the road. The link looked fine - but when i banged on the sway bar from below with I fist, I heard the sound that had been driving me nuts for months. It was a cheap fix - $30 for the BMW. Probably the same for the Mercedes.

i am hearing a squeeking kinda of rubbing noise when I push down on the car in the front. When i took a look under there i found that the squeeking was coming from where the sway bar is mounted to the plastic piece to the right of the radiator. I cant seem to tighten down the bolt holding that plastic mounting peice to the car. The bolt tightens but doesnt get real tight it can keep spinning. I wonder if maybe when there is a sudden push up from the wheel (such as when going over a bump) this is causing the click, that i hear. And under softer pressure(such as me pushing down on the car) there is a squeek. I will have to look at this part closer.

Update
so i just got done tightening that plastic bracket that holds the swaybar in place, what i had to do was put another washer between the bolt head and the assembly. I tightened it down and took her for a drive. Now no clicking. So unless it comes back, my conclusion is that tighting that down has fixed the problem.
Thanks so much for all the help!!!
