I have a 1994 S500 (W-140 body) with about 90k miles on it. As you might imagine, the driver's seat cushions are starting to show a bit of wear, while the passenger side seat looks like new.
My question is....is it possible/reasonable to switch the driver/passenger seat cushions with each other??? I realize the seat frames need to stay in their original locations, but how do you remove the cushions from their frames??

Thanks, Barry

Why not just replace the Driver's seat skin with a new one?? This is what is done most of the time. I don't know if they are interchangeable.

Well, besides saving a good chunk of change, the "worn" seat is just slightly worn, ans since I drive mostly by myself, the thought was to equalize the wear and then when BOTH seats are worn out (WAY down the road), replace them both at the same time.
My thinking was also that this way, there would be no problem with color shades matching.

Thanks,

Barry

I have done that with many Benz I have owned at about 75K and it has worked out great.
The only one I could not was my 113 as there is a right and left.
Call a dealer and if they are interchangeable they will have the same part #. Sometimes it is just the seat cushion, not the back that can be changed.

I haven't investigated the situation thoroughly, but are they relatively simple/hard to remove and replace??
Does the whole seat have to come out, and then remove the lower cushion, or can I just unhook a few clips and heater wire and out it comes??

Thanks for any info.

Barry
