I have a 1991 300E 4MATIC and I need to replace the muffler. Instead of getting a brand new original or after market muffler, I am considering looking for a used one from a junk yard. Can someone tell me whether the 4MATIC uses the same type of muffler as the regular 300E? Also, how much do you think a used muffler is worth? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't bother with used exhaust parts, with the exception of a manifold. You have no idea what you are buying even if it looks OK. If you need a muffler, get a new one. How long would a used one last anyway.. The muffler is the same as the 300E

Thanks Jeffsr. The reason why I want a used on is because I intend to trade in my 91 4MATIC next summer for a 97-98 E320.

midas has good mufflers i had one put on my 1985 500sel but if your ganna trade in it 's not that good of a deal beacuse they replace it when it goes bad.
