'86 W124 blower motor fuse fix

I understand that the blower motor (heater/ac) on the 124 develops an increasing current draw as it ages, blowing the fuse and actually causing a sort of melt-down in the fuse box. Mine has gotten really bad. I have heard that there is a fix for this thru MB, but I think it is simply a bypass of the fusebox and going to an inline fuse with a higher amperage. If I am correct, does anyone know the parts needed to do it, and the procedure? Is this a DIY job?

Whether it's a DIY job depends on your level of skill and sense of adventure.

Hope this helps
