Question 93 300TE 4 MATIC warning light help needed

Recently my 93 300TE 4 MATIC system is giving me a warning light. The 4 MATIC warning light will flash twice with about 1 second interval in between when I come to a complete stop, and after I have lift off the brake pedal to get moving again, it is immedaitely after I lift off the brake pedal the warning light comes on. I can reproduce this warning light constantly while the gear is in "DRIVE" if I just step on the brake and let off the brake.

I have already checked the rear brake lights and everything looks fine to me.

Any ideas?

TIA

My reply will bring ttt again...

Other than that, I can give no assistance beyond the fact that the early 4-matic systems are failure prone and complex, meaning often difficult to diagnose and repair.

p-car993,

I do remember a website by a Norwegian ( not sure ) in English and amacingly clear and simple about all you would like to know about the working and trouble shooting on a W 124 - 4 Matic.
I printed it out but forgot to arrange so I am not able to find it back quickly.
Try a search by Google under W124 + 4 Matic and hope...
Let me know if you do / don't find it back.

Danny

300TE 4Matic light problem

Our '93 has about 250,000 miles, 4matic light just started to come on like yours, when still, and foot on brake. 4matic works OK on the road under slippery conditions. I'm looking for at least an explanation. The shop that does our tech work put the diagnostic tester on and could not find any problem. Please post an answer if you get any help with the problem. Thanks
