Question 1971 modell 350 SL Electronic injection

I have a 350 SL 1971 with electronic injection.
The engine vill not start. The spark plugs are very wet of gasoline so it vill not ignite. If I block the fuel hose from the fuel pump with a vice grip. Take the spark plugs out and run the engines so the gas blow out of the sylinders. Innstal dry sparkplugs.
The engines start and goes in 2 -3 second . If I open the vicegrip, and try to start again, it will not start. Spark plugs are wet. Someone know from experience what's wrong ?

That used to happen to my dad's 300SEL 3.5 on very high humidity or rainy days. A few minutes with a hair drier on the ECU fixed it. A new rubber cap on the ECU was a more permanent fix.

Either the injectors are staying open much too long or you have a plugged fuel return or bad pressure regulator causing very high fuel pressure.

Also, check to make sure the temp sensor in the air horn is connected properly -- if the wires are bad, the ECU "thinks" it's about -60 degrees and will dump huge amounts of fuel down the intake.

You could also have a bad cold start valve or thermo-time switch.
