Well this morning it is warmer and I am later so I can't explain closed loop testing completely. Read my article in the DIY section. It describes how to test. It doesn't tell what closed loop is all about it presumes one already understands that.

Closed loop is a management concept. The management of mixture control . It means that you monitor the results of your original fuel calculation and use the result of the monitoring to correct the original calculation. The end result is a movement rich , lean , rich , lean , rich, lean, rich , lean etc. about a given mixture. If this happens the car has to run right. That is so because it can't work and run wrong. Once closed loop is achieved the car will get good fuel consumption.
