Hello everyone, I need to know what size o-ring is on the dipstick tube where it bolts to the transmission. I have an '85 300D and it is leaking from there. I want to have o-ring in hand when I repair it. Thank you in advance, John.

You can get the o-ring from a dealer. for about a buck
The problem that I found is that you need to goop it up with RTV sealant when you put the tube in with the new o-ring, and then quickly secure it to the engine so it cannot move as it hardens. If the tube moves around it will start leaking again.

Fastlane
You can get the dipstick 0-ring from Fastlane (at least I did for my 300e) and the rubber ring for the oil filler cap too.

The part number is 016 997 29 48. If everything is clean when you reassemble you shouldn't need any sealer on o-ring. Using sealer just makes it more difficult to clean the next time you have to remove the filler pipe.
