Hi all, Do you have to have the plastic guide in the engine, that is the one that allways gets broke if you try to take the head off.. Will the engine run without it and the chain stay in place once the chain is tight ??? Thanks Rob... p.s. this is a 103 engine.

I doubt you will find anyone on here that has tried to run a 103 engine without this guide. I would suspect that you could cause some pretty good damage inside the cover without the guide.
