'89 190 all of sudden runs rough

I just bought mt first benz and really enjoy it. Have had it about 3 weeks and no problems, until yesterday. We got a lot of snow and i don't know if it's related or not. Started out fine, after about 6-7 miles or so, car stumbled and went to almost an idle. Coasted to the sde of the raod where it would barely idle. Any feathering of the gas would do nothing. Tried drygas and filled the tank, nothing. Played around with the manual accelerator linkage and it seemed to clear out. Was fine for a while (30-45 min) and it did it again. I thought it might be road moisture getting into a/celaner so i disconnected snorkle. That's not it. If you shut it off and restart, starts right up and runs good for about 20 feet and starts all over again. It does clear out eventually and will be fine for a while. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm pretty handy with the wrenches, but, I just don't know anything about this car. By the way it's a 2.6 auto. Thanks for the help guys!

Well, magical gremlins came during the night and fixed my car. I didn't use it all yesterday, went out started it today and it didn't miss a beat. Could it have been water in the gas? Don't know, but, it's running good for right now.

It does sound like water in the fuel. I understand it is a lot more common than a lot of us believe.

Where does the car live?

Southern Nh. We got over 2 feet of snow this past weekend. My son had the car today and said it didn't miss a beat, Hopefully that's all it was. Strange though.

I have the same problem with my 1989 190E 2.6 - here is my story. Initally I had the cold start problem, after changing the OVP that went away but this new issue is now occuring from time to time.

When the car warms up I would dirve it for about 1 - 2 Km and al of the sudden when I try to accelarte the engine would like cut off and the car won't speed up but rather slow down, as soon as I go to a complete stop I can barly move forward it will go bu tabout 2 km/hour. When I shut the car off for about 10 minutes start it up again and it would go fine and get me to my destination.

I did the general tune up (spark plugs, cables and dist cap, fuel system cleaning and carb cleaning).

After reading many of the posts here I am aware that there could be a problem with the fuel relay or the o2 sensor - or do you guys have any other ideas?
