I just bought a 1999 C230 Kompressor a couple days ago from the local craigslist, a private party. It has 57,xxx miles, was always stored in a garage, its basically like new. Seller was asking $4500, I paid $3800 cash. I'm the 3rd owner. Click my user name to see photo.

02 C320 wagon, 146k miles, transmission stuck in limp home mode, dead AC, $1100.

The previous owner dumped a bunch of money into it to have the conductor plate and plug replaced to no avail. After all that his mechanic told him it needed a new gearbox so he gave up and sold it. I pulled the TCU which was full of ATF, cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, reset it with icarsoft and it shifts beautifully. The AC needed a new compressor, condenser, expansion valve and flush which came out to about $300.

Its replacing my old volvo 960 with a blown headgasket

The 4 spoke steering wheel it came with is nasty and uncomfortable so I swapped in a 3 spoke wheel off a C230 from the same year. $90 on ebay. All the steering wheel controls work perfectly.

Throw in new brakes, replaced all the fluids and and a few other odds and ends, registration etc and it owes me $2000 all in.

Nice work! I don't think I could achieve those kind of vent temps, even in the dead of winter.

I may have posted in here before but my cars have changed since then.

-$1300 for a 7/10 1995 C36 AMG with 157,000 miles. Has some peeling clear coat but otherwise a nice daily. It had a blown head gasket and a number of other smaller issues. I'm in it about $2200 now and its worth like twice that.

- $1300 for a manual 1989 2.6 190E that has no rust (I drove over 1000 miles round trip to get it). It has moon miles and was primered when we got it. Great for a track car though. You can follow us at https://www.facebook.com/MacIntyreMotorsports/

- $2000 for a 1974 450SLC that didn't run and also is pretty high mileage. At least it isn't rusty. Did some euro conversion stuff and still debating on what engine I'm going to swap in. Although in runs now its not going to run for long with all the serious issues its developed after 230,000 miles.

$7,800 for a 1995 e320 in Mint condition (42,000 miles). Maintained by a Mercedes mechanic. Alway garaged. New wiring harness. German OEM fluids/filters/parts throughout. Still have new car smell inside.

Prices of the current stable:
99 E300 with 205K $3,000
99 E300 with 537K $300. I bought it with a bad rear differential and put one in. it's still got lots of life left in it based off a compression test from when I did the glow plugs.
98 E300 with 153k $500. missing a few parts, saved it from crazy rays junkyard in Maryland.
98 E300 (GFs now) $400 had a terrible misfire from a bad injector, I also repaired a lot of rust and repainted it myself in the garage AND welded a new rear end onto the car after it got rear ended because she loves it so much.
87 300D $600 - sold tomorrow for $1300 to pay some bills and thin the heard

New Guy here. Just bought a 1992 300TE with 138,000mi for $1700 out of Atlanta. Engine and trans seem to be in great shape, uses no oil, leaks no trans fluid and ATF is pink. Needs a little love, but seems to be a great car so far. Dreaded hard start/low idle issue, but working through that. Just pulled blower and resistor out of the parts car and replaced last night (25F for three hours... joy). Still have to repair the cruise fix, some play in the steering, and swap out the power door lock pump form the parts car. Will be updating as I go. TEs are getting hard to find and I had to have one as I moonlight as an upright bass player.

Noob here as well. Picking up an '81 300D NA the day after Christmas from original owner with roughly 320k. Beautiful Cream body with matching hubcaps, new engine 60k ago, new tranny 15k ago, interior in great condition, seller has all paperwork dating back to original bill of sale in 1981. Only drawbacks are some minor transmission-related vacuum problems(find me a single w123 that doesn't have that and I'll eat a cup of dirt), and only blows hot air not cold. Seeing as it's December that's not a big issue as of yet.

All for a grand total of $1500

I like grabbing grabbing cheap w124s with blown head gaskets and the usual w124 problems for practically nothing that people give up on. Fix then drive or sell.
