cold start hell

Greetings all,
After tracing a cold start problem that comprised many new parts (ovp, cold start valve, coolant temp switch, etc) I have found that I have no power at the cold start valve itself. There is a brown ground wire and what should be a hot (upon cranking) pink/green wire...tracing this back into the firewall, I have come to a dead end not wanting to tear into the underdash area.
I am wondering if anyone has wiring schematic or experience with this section of the loom.

Lastly, to check my theory, I will run a jump wire from battery positive to the positive terminal of the cold start valve tomorrow morning (20 degree mornings out here on the east coast now!)
Any feedack/ thoughts/help appreciated
