Ahh Smoooth

I put a new set of motor mounts on the E300 this weekend, man what a difference that made. Prior to the installation the dash trim would rattle and my wife complained all the time. I new it was not an irregular engine miss therefore it was not engine related. I had read a post about the mounts lasting about 100K on the diesels. With 285K plus on this car I figured the mounts needed it any way. Never thought it would make that much difference. Best $150.00 I've spent since the new glow plugs went in.

It realy does make a difference...

I changed the motor mounts and the trans mount on my 88 190e with 150k miles on it about 2 months ago. AND YES IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. I share in your ethusiasm. I guess I never felt the small day to day deterioriation of the ride. Now my car is SMOOTH! I love to drive it again......

I Agree Too

I bought a '92 300e for my wife a couple years ago and it ran absolutely beautiful except when stopped a light with the car in drive it would vibrate. I took a chance that maybe it was the motor mount and it WAS. After replacing the mount the car is like new again - a huge difference. I was really happy that the solution was so simple and cheap (thanks to Fastlane).
