Soft closing doors S280 1998 W140 Update

Hi,
I have noticed that when I close my doors with soft close, they all pop out about 5 milimeteres after 5sec and I can hear an air pressure release noise from the rear of the car. So it is happening on all the doors not just the drivers.

any ideas pls?

thanks

Amolak

Sounds like they are all working properly!!! Or all misadjusted the same amount. But then I already explained that in your other post.

Do they wind up in the second lock position?? If so, they did their job properly.

Is there any way to get rid of that 'feature' on the W140's? It's just one moe gee wiz bang thing to go wrong. (IMHO)...

Easy!

pull the pump or even easier, pull the fuse! Look for close assist in the rear fuse panel and remove it. This will remove the close assist function entirely!
