How to release throttle linkage ball joints?

Simple question, I know. But is there a trick to releasing those ball and socket type throttle linkage joints? I don't want to pry the socket off the ball if I will destroy it. I figure there must be an easy method somehow.

On my old Jaguar, the "socket" was spring loaded around the ball, but I don't see that on the MB.

Any help appreciated.

One style you can use a small open end wrench to release the socket..Put the wrench between the two and pry it loose

One Style there is a snap ring that must be removed to release the ball socket ..
