W124 center armrest latch repair

Hello,

I have been searching now for some time and cannot find details on this. I need to repair my floppy center driver's seat armrest (yup, 5 year old stepped on it) . How do I open the latch -- the big black locking button -- to get in there? It is a '92 W124.

I see a 2-piece bezel and the center button .. ...

Thanks!

It looks like you tilt the seat forward and then place the arm rest just above horizontal position

1. There is a flange on the insde part of your seat

2 Manual says to press cover off above mounting flange and screw off the two nuits off the flange.

3. Remove armrest from the back rest frame

4. reinstall in reverse order

Mine is out and partially disassembled. It looks like toast inside — the inner plastic black frame is broken in about 10 places, not to mention the latch mechanism broken and worn. Aldemon, I’ll take it if it is in working order.
