Wink C230 Creaky Front End

Our 1998 C230 makes a creaky sound on the right ( passenger) side at the front end going over small bumps at fairly low speeds . The same sound can be produced by just pushing down fairly hard on the front fender at a point about parallel to the air filter housing . The car has 107,000 miles about 50% in town . Any idea of the cause and remedy ?

Thanks ,

Mine made the same noise (I think, tough to tell here...) and new front lower ball joints cured it. Common W202 wear item on cars driven on bad roads, seem to wear out by 100K-miles even on smooth-road livin' cars.

I'll second the motion on front lower ball joints. Same thing happened last spring to my '94 C280, just when the weather started to get mild again. It had about 75,000 miles or so at the time.
