Cleaning E430 Fuel Sending Unit
Does anyone know how to remove the fuel sending unit for a 99 E430? I saw posts about it being in the trunk. I removed my spare tire and it was exactly obvious to me where it was located.
My fuel gauge always reads 3/4 full when I fill it up. I tried using Fuel Cleaner, but that didn't work. I want to try cleaning the Fuel Sending Unit before I try replacing it completely. Any help anyone could give me on this topic would be appreciated. Note, I saw several posts on this topic, but nothing with any detail on locating and removing the FSU for my 99 E430. /\ |

Newer cars like yours don't benefit from cleaning of the tank unit.
The unit is in the trunk, behind the carpet at the front of the trunk. MAKE sure the tank is at least 1/2 EMPTY or you will have a mess!!
