Angry Transmission conductor plate

Anyone had a leaking transmission conductor plate? I understand that the repair requires replacing the conductor plate, seals, fluid, filter, gaskets, orings, etc. etc.

Also, my mechanic is having many harmonic balancer replacements.

The orings for the connector will leak, the fix is replace the orings and trim the conductor plate. (there is a SI on that one)

ML320 conductor plate

The SB does not recommend trimming the plate, they want to replace the plate, filter, orings, gaskets, fluid, seals, lock for a cost of $700. I can't see the leak, nothing dripping on the floor yet. How long can this go.

The copy I hace recomended trimming the plate, I've done it several times with sucess. The trim is done around the the ribs supporting the connector, thee is a short block behind those that is trimmed, this allows the connector to float more in relation to hitting the v/b.

The o-rings seal the junction connector to the trans body. The juntion connector 140 270 02 50 costs 9.75 list and comes with the o-rings. We replace the whole thing. This device is about 2-3 inches long and mounts onto the conductor plate and encompases the union with the cars harness.

There are good reasons to replace the conductor plate, leaks have not been one for us. the connector is a simple replacement.
