My car is an 85' 300D 124 (603 engine). I noticed my battery warning light lit up on the dash and I smelled something burning. I stopped the car and checked under the hood and everything seemed to be ok. Fanbelt was intact and spinning but the warning light was still on and got stronger when I rev the engine. What could be wrong? Alternator? Could it be the DIODES or CARBON BRUSH? Thanks guys! ------------------ 94' E280 Euro 85' 300D Euro 87' 250D Euro 77' 300D Euro Manila, Philippines |

It could not be the brushes. The light is turned on throught the brushes. My money is on the diodes and a new belt.
