Sounds like the problem may be with your rotor or ditributor cap. That is assuming you have your plug wires on the correct plugs. If I am not mistaken you will need an allen head wrench to remove the distributor cap. If you don't have allen heads then go to Sears and get a set of Craftsman metric allen head wrenches. If the rotor appears worn or damaged repace the rotor and the cap with new ones.

I have 3 coil packs no distributor cap for this year. I call the dealership to see if the coils would go out at the same time they said no.

Mercedes changed the engine in 1993, but didn't bother to change the badge until 1994 to E320.

1993 300E's have the 3.2 liter M104 engine.

1993 300E 2.8's have the 2.8 liter M104 engine.

Do you know if your engine wiring harness has been changed?

1993 - 1995 300E' / E320's have been engine wiring harnesses. The insulation on the wires is bio-degradable, causing shorts / misfires, etc.
