Any info on removing plastic rocker panels
is appreciated. I see the screws on the bottom. Would like to know about the top fastening.
Many Thanks

Fairly simple. Remove screws at bottom, tip panels out slightly and at the same time lift up. Held at the top by nylon clips. Should pop right off. However, you may have to replace some of the retainer clips as they can be somewhat fragile and don't work as well as before they were disturbed. Check with parts shop. They probably have them. BTW, why are you removing the trim panels??

Thanks Jeff, but I got them off this afternoon. These are a later model [E320-'95] and I found along with the bottom screws you mention, there are another 10 per side under the rubber door seals. After the seal is removed it is fairly easy.
I have removed them for one damaged and refinishing.
Thanks
Arthur

Arthur,

Do you think it is an easy job for novice DIYer?

I have no garage. So if I brake clips, etc. the naked rocker panel should stay outside for days. And I need car alsmost every day and I do not want to spend money for rental car.

I want to remove and reinstall plastic rocker panel on my 1992 300D to treat some rust inside.

Could you give me more advice on the job?

Must the car be lifted?

"10 per side under the rubber door seals" <-- is this on the outside vertical surface of the plastic rocke (when I close the door, the bottom of the door (plastic) touches these black rubber)?

Any other advice?
