Advice on replacing (underneath)door bulb.any caveat?
300e w124 door underside
plastic cover for bulb that lights when door opens,afraid to break 12 yrs old plastic,any caveat.Does it just pull out? What bulb does it use? Thanks for the advice.

Before I replaced mine I pulled the fuse. Then, just take a flat screwdriver and pry it out - shouldn't be too brittle.
My one tip is - make sure you put it back in before you close the door. Ask me how I know... Peter |

is it rear door or front door? on my 300e the rear door bulb is easy to get out if you remove the ashtray and the plastic around the ashtray. I never tried, but you could probably get to the front bulbs by moving or removing the storage compartment at the base of the door. Your problem may also be with the wiring snaked through the rubber tubing that sits in between the door and the body. This gets worn down and broken after years of door opening/closing. Good luck.
