I think I've asked this question before, but I don't think I did it clearly. Ok, here is my question:
Is it NORMAL for the rear wheels of a 190E to spin while up on a lift? a. Car engine on b. Transmission in "N" I'm just curious if the rear wheels should be turning when shifter is in "N" while engine is ON when car is on a lift. The drive shaft (I think that's what it's called) was spinnig and so were the 2 rear wheels (spinning slowly). I thought "N" means that the rear wheels should not spin at all. Anyhow, I just thought it was weird that that the weels should spin while in "N." I should note that once car wheels are touching the ground, wheels stop spinning and car stays put (unles if it's on an incline). Thanks. |

Yes, it is normal. Even with no gears engaged, their will be enough friction in the trasnsmission to spin the wheels if there is no load: up in the air.
