My transmission is leaking and I believe it is coming from the
B-2 piston seal on right rear of tranny. Can I replace this seal without lowering the transmission. Can I take off trans mounting crossmember and pry trans over to get more room. Do you unbolt the three allen head bolts off and pull the b-2 piston away and insert new o- ring and reinstall. Anyone with a diagram. I bought one of those useless cd repair manuel off e-bay and it tells you nothing--no diagrams--what a ripoff.

Thats not the B-2 piston , thats actually part of the secondary pump/governer. If you are a patient person and good at working blind you can do it. You have to remove the 10mm nut as well as the 3 6 allens, then it will come loose by rocking it or gently prying with a screwdriver. You will see the gears in the backside that have a flatdowl on one, that has to line back up when install. there is one big o-ring behind it and a plate. After you remove it from the car you need to dis-assemble it on a clean bench, dont let the gears fall out the backside, now on a bench remove the clip in the front behind the plate you will see a spring and sometimes a ball, remember how it goes. Get a pick and dig the seal out of the groove (its small). Then install the new one , make sure its in the correct groove , then re-install the spring and ball .
Push the cover back on and re-install clip. Now pick it up (watch the gears on backside) , after you have replaced the seal on the tranny make sure it wont fall out! Put the cover back on with the flatdowl aligned correctly. Start your 3 allens and you should have a new 10mm nut (it has a seal on it too) start it also, now slowly while checking often tighten everything down. Now if your car does not have this 10mm nut on the outside dont worry about it , some do and I dont have your tranny #. If you dont think you can do this ,,DONT , it will be more expensive if you mess it up.

Thanks a million euro 287. I got to do it cause I'm a poor country boy. I can do it. Mine does have the 10mm nut with an adjustment screw going through it. What does it adjust. I have the 319 transmission.

How far does this governer protrude into the transmission. I havn't got much room to pull it out. Do I need to pry the transmission over to make it clear when I pull it out. I have my driveshaft disconnected replacing a bad flex disc and now is the time to fix this.

You are not pulling the governer out , just the plate off to replace the seals. You need enough room to get to the bolts and get your hand in there.
