I've been reading here a LOT about timing chains and rails on V-8 engines but see most all are refering to 80's and even 70's cars. What about the '92 119 500 V-8? Is this one of the engines needing attention? I'm not a DIY'r so what is the price of having this done, on average?

If it isn't a SL then you won't have to remove the aluminum pan but you will have to remove the subpan and oil pump chain. The compressor, crank balancer and pully , air pump, water pump, and distributor will have to be removed. do it and back together in 3 hours and your my man.
