c140 seats

i acquired this car almost a year ago. a 1997 with only 20,300 miles. i drove it for a couple of months, then laid it up in a warehouse of mine.

drove it in december. again in early february.

because the seatbacks were locked, i took it to a dealer thinking that the repair of this failure to actuate would be starmarked. boy, was i wrong.

anyway, now i have this car back. and the driver's seat is as hard as a concrete bench. this is not the case with the right front seat.

can anyone figure what the benz dealer could have done when they removed these seats to adjust them that would have resulted in such a "hardening"?

or, do the the c140's have concrete driver's seats as the norm?

i ask this because these seats are now harder than any of those in my other benzes. 6.9, 560sel, 560sec, e320cab.

all ears,

Is your C140 equipped with orthopedic seats option?

My S 500 L comes with the othopedic seats option and if all switches are set to the highest level the seat back feels harder than a rock.

Maybe the dealer did something to the system that even if everything is set at "0" you are getting full air pressure on the seat back.

Just a thougt...
