300E 86 problems
my muffler came off today and it really sucks now because it sounds like a rice burner. anyhow, is it easy to replace these things? I see that fastlane has them for under 200.00 and its the rear part that i need. will i need a welding gun to mount this together with the center muffler?.
Also, another problem. Whenever i'm about to start the car, i put the keys into the 1st position of the ignition switch and i always get this clicking sound comming from the engine. the car will start ok...takes about 4 secs of crank time to get it up and going but the clicking sound is still there. it seems that its comming from under the air filter canister and thus lead me to believe that the starter solinoid is getting bad. I am look at fastlane for these and they dont have them...are they called ignition coils? or do they not sell them anymore? thanks for everyones help allen.b |

the muffler is pretty easy to replace. though given the cold weather i opted to go to a local mechanic's shop and had them put on the new one. it takes a bit of pulling/pushing so it's best you pay someone to do it for you. otherwise, there's no welding involved. it's simply removing the clamp and putting the new one on.
good luck.
