124 sunroof kit?

Dear listers,
While fixing the sunroof woes of my 124 I have encountered a problem. The front "horns" of the sunroof frame that connect to the rubber drain tubes have disintegrated. Is not there any MB repair kit for such an ocasion? It seems unreal that Mb in its infinite wisdom would not provide a cure for the potentially hazardous joint. Replacing the whole sunroof frame does not seem yummy. If somebody has fixed this kind of problem before, please help. Sincerely yours,
Corneliu

Have a complete sunroof assy.

When I repaired my totaled 93 400E and had to replace the roof,
I opted to do it with a German roof as it had no sunroof. Did this as in the South they are more pain than worth and it gives you more headroom without it. Also too cold in the winter, too hot in the summer and too windy to use on the interstates, so why drag around the extra weight?
Anyway, mine was not damaged and I have the whole unit for sale. If you want just the frame I removed, no problem. Hardest part was removing the headliner to get to everything, time consuming mainly.
Good luck with your repair,

Sorry...

My 400E is a USA car and had a sunroof in it when an oak limb fell on it and b/c of the $13k estimate to repair the damage, it was totalled. All four doors would still open, the sunroof would open 1/2 way, the winshield was cracked and the rear glass knocked out. I drove it home from the salvage auction!
I stripped the interior out and replaced the roof with a German OE roof without the sunroof cutout in it. Sunroofs are options in many countries as is AC, leather, stereo radios, etc.
Bottom line is it had a metal sunroof and now has none, less weight high up!
