Running transmission in Winter mode

Hi.
I have a question about running the 5 speed automatic transmission in my 1999 E-220 CDI in Winter mode.

I was just wondering if I can run it in winter mode all year round? I think it shifts much nicer since it starts in 2.nd gear, and upshifts more quickly. Also it doesn't kick down as quickly as it does in standard mode.
I normally drive quite gently, and think the shift pattern in the winter program suits the R.P.M. / power band on the CDI engine much better than the standard program.

Sincerely
Steinar Fagerheim

If you're happy then keep doing what you're doing.

I do the same thing with my car. I drive around in wet mode all the time for the revised shift program and second gear starts. It will not cause any problems.

By switching to S or W mode does it make any difference to gas mileage?

Joetam:
I don't know about the mileage. It is really cheap on diesel anyway, so I don't think it makes much of a difference.
