Remote Start for 1991 300e?
I know that there has to be a certain kind of system to have a Keyless Entry/Remote Start for my car,,I really dont want an aftermarket alarm.. Does anyone know of any systems that will work?
I would like to use a flip key like an ML with the key that flips and the lock/unlock buttons.. Will the ML key fit a 300E or is it different? any insight into this would be great.. thanks everyone.. Last edited by Evan; 03-17-2004 at 09:33 AM. |

pretty much the same installation as any other car with the exception of vacuum locks. any experienced shop can do that for you. however you'll get a remote with it. as for the flip key, aftermarket remotes don't have that. can't help you there.
good luck.

Commando makes KE kits that are very inexpensive, some include remote start. The one I installed is also an alarm, no remote start, and with all the doodads and two remotes it was less than $50. I've installed these in two cars and they work flawlessly. No key integration. Extras you'll need are Bosch relays for the vacuum system trigger, and probably extra wiring. Installation of any aftermarket systems is VERY time-consuming.

steve,
def. agree with you over the fact of it being time consuming. a friend of mine got it installed from a shop with life time warranty from DEI, all together with installation it cost him 180. i thought it was well worth it given he has life time installation/parts warranty and he saved tons of labor and frustration had he done it himself.
