Yellow ENGINE / MOTOR Vac connectors (Please)

In the continuance of problems with the climate control system of my 95 e320, I have come upon 2 relatively small yellow vaccuum valves which say engine-motor on them and they split vacuum to other lines. They are located right near the master cylinder / fusebox area in the little space right behind the wall that separates the engine from where the fusebox is located. Closer to the climate outside air intakes and the monowiper. Mounted right on top, bright yellow, easy to see. They cost 8.75 from MB but they could not tell me what they go to.

Any ideas as to what they are used for? One of mine is totally broken, and I think it just happened recently.

They are vac check valves and their funtion is to keep full vac for the ACC and vac res tank when the engine is not supplying high vac . [ as under load or egr openings, etc]
This allows for a consistant full [ high vac] vac power source for actuators..

Thanks a lot. With the engine on, I can hear vaccuum hissing out of the broken connector--I'm getting a new one this weekend at Holloway Mercedes in Manchester (I see you're in Milford!) and hopefully this will solve my climate control problem.

Got the valve yesterday (sorry no stop in-was raining hard and got lost twice!) and put it in last night. Now the climate control seems to work perfectly again. AC out center vents, floor heat, recirc, etc. Amazing such a tiny piece of plastic controls so much.

Thanks for your help.
