I am wondering if there has ever been produced a w124 model wagon, with a diesel and 4-matic. My friend bought the '92 300D and I love it, but I need a wagon to replace the Volvo, and would use the all wheel drive in the mountains. In my opinion, this would be the ultimate car. Mine too! I wanted an awd deisel too but MB doesn't make one for US consumption....Sigh...

Yes, sigh, this would be the ultimate auto for my needs. I had to choose between diesel and AWD. I think I'll be happy with my choice and just keep good snow tires and chains for the real winter time adventures.

P.S. I'd like a trailer hitch too.

MBUSA in their self proclaimed, infinite wisdom, withholds many desirable models from the US Market.

We have finally gotten them to give us a manual transmission sedan again, now we can start harping on them to get some of the other models over here that their customers want.
