ASR Light with code 6

So I have this 1994 E420 with 136000 miles that has an intermittent ASR Light. How intermittent? Welp it seems like after the code is cleared it will operate fine for the next 100-300 miles of constant driving, then the condition occurs again. I pull the codes and find there is only one...06 ISC the vehicle goes into LimpHome mode when the light is on. I have done a search on this site and found some great information. I checked the throttle cable for wear, I checked the brake light switch which appears to be operating properly, TPS sensor seems to be working properly when monitoring it with my meter. All signs point to the ETA but I was looking for a bit more confidence as this part is close to $1000.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I assume you are getting code 6 from the led/sw of the DM under the hood .
If so, what you want to do now is get the codes from pins 6 and 7 of your 38 pin connector socket. This will require a simple homemade led tool [ archives] .
This will get you more ASR specific info/codes . Post those codes and I can give you the chart specifics.
The tool will use pin 1 for ground, pin 3 for 12v power and 6/7 for code initiation/retrieve.
[ or, you can use the battery for gnd and power, with the code lead going to pins 6 and then 7.]

Thanks for the input. I got the codes from my Modis scanner. I figured that there were more specific codes that I needed. So the LED will flash the code right? I start with pin 6, that will give me some codes, then I go to pin 7 right? that will give me another set of codes?

Thanks again! I will have them tomorrow night.

Should I have posted this in the private tech section?
