Right, those Catrol's have no API "C" or ACEA "B" rating. So I switched to an oil that has API CH-4 and ACEA B3.

I drove 2778 miles with non-diesel rated Castrol 10W-40 in winter.

If the tensioner is pushing the chain, a stretched chain will feel tight too.

Anyway, he said that he read the angle at crank shaft with markings at cam shaft aligned.

He took some picures after he opened the cam cover for timing chain stretch measurement.
