ABS and SRS lights up: stuck in traffic
Benz 92 e320
normally the idling further dips when the engine is running hot and long enough (esp when the engine temp is 90 to 100C esp on warm days). but the other night , i was stuck in non moving traffic for > 1 hours (which is abnormally long) with A/C, headlights and radio and noticed that the ABS and SRS lights up but turns off when i cut off the headlights. the RPM is not enough to handle the load. i have new alternator 80 watts and new battery. the engine is working at optimum. my tach is busted so i have no idea of the actual RPM this is not a problem in stop and go traffic because of the reserve charge of the battery today i have i adjusted my idle by 2 rotations but i do know thst this is still not adequate. i do think that in this situations (non moving trafffic) the alternator will have some difficulty of maintaining an adequate charge at full electrical load unless you make some modifications on alternator and idling thanks |
