Saw a Benz today like I've never seen before. It was a 126, appeared to be "stretched" by about two feet with dark tinted glass in the addition. Trunk badge clearly said 1000 SEL, that is one thousand, not a typo .

The vehicle had passenger plates, not limo/livery plates and turned in to some houses near mine. I will be keeping an eye out, hopefully I'll see it while I have the digital camera handy, but until then, is there such an animal?.

I should think the 1000sel badge was added by the company that streched the car.

You never know, it may have a 10 litre engine!!!!!

That's why they stretched it, so they could accommodate the ten liter engine.<g>

I'm 99% positive that Mercedes bored the 1970's Caddy 501 engines. :

Whats up Ted...

I am on the list too... and thats how I came to post this here as well. The 1000SEL auction link you posted seems to be of a fake. The inside appears to be normal... as in, like a regular 500/560. It has an SEC hood that goes over SEL lights. Pretty nasty(bad) looking car though... a shame someone did that. Those mobsters will never learn :p

Yeah, it looked like they tacked on the "1000". There was a thread while back about one spotted, I think ?? it was posted by "David C Klasse" (haven't seem him here in a while), probably lots of them in CA.

I don't post on Benzworld, just lurk. A lot of posts about mods and I don't really care about modifying my 560, but some of it's interesting.

If I wanted a fast Merc, I would have stretched my wallet some more a bought a 500E instead. Although, I am VERY interested in a Euro 6.9. I know of a perfect 6.9 US spec FS in No. Cali, for $15 with all the expensive stuff done and a good reference, but it's not a Euro!

Hey Ted.. Have you seen Cyberdrakon's supercharged 560SEC? How would that do against a 500E(m119)? I would be interested in knowing.

I think I read something about it -- it would probably smoke a 500E.

Yes Snibble, that is the same one I saw in town and even posted pictures of in another thread.

Your PM box is full and no email, so in answer to your question, best bet is traffic school. Costs about as much as a moving violation but no points and no insurance increase, but is only available if no prior traffic school in the prior 2 years or so. Info not valid in all states.

I have no idea why I can't get PM's from people anymore. My inbox is not full.. I am pretty sure someone is messing with it, because this problem occured shortly after someone recieved a PM that was not too kind

Thanks for the tip Mike.. will see if I can ask the judge about that.
