well just out of curiousity...
i awoke my s500 today after a 6 month slumber.changed oil and filter and warmed uo for 5 mins.while i was on the highway it seemed that my instantaneous mpg was higher than i remember while i had it on cruise.what does your s-class read in instantaneous mpg when your s-class is going 60mph or 100km/hr on a steady road?
another thing, when i initially took it out the tranny had a hard time going into 4th gear and at first it would make a chirp sound as it went into 4th.i know this isn't normal but what does it indicate-if anything.remember the car was idle for some time.i haven't done a tranny fluid change in some time but it was on the list of chores this year.is my tranny cooked?is this why my mpg is higher than i remember? ![]() ![]()
