I just got my car back from the dealer, after they color sanded it and repainted the trunk. Did a great job. But just noticed the emblem saying "300E" is now gone. No holes or anything, just missing. Should l Have them put it back on, I know somepeople have them removed on purpose.

Advice, opinions?

I prefer the debadged look. It's personal preference though. Give it a week or so. Bet you'll end up liking it.

If you want it back on the car, simply bring this to the attention of the dealer. They should give you a major apology and free oil change in addition to replacing the emblem.

Don't wait too long, though, or they may say it was not their fault it is missing. It is best to bring these things to the attention of the repair shop within 24 hours, for the best response.

Good Luck,

PS. I prefer the 'original' look with all badges and chrome intact

Mermaid:

My 300E emblem was placed on a slight slant at the factory, so I removed it temporarily. I love the clean look without the emblem, so I will probably leave it off.

Why don't you get the dealer to give you a new emblem (they are adhesive backed and easy to install), and tell them you will install it yourself. Then put the emblem in a drawer for a month or so until you decide if you want it back on.

It is worth letting the new paint "cure" for a month or so before putting the emblem on anyway, and it goes on like a self stick postage stamp.

I would replace it with a 240 D badge and sucker all those unwitting 260 E owners into a drag race!

Excuse me, is there a 'Kick Me' sign on us 240D owners?
