W210 Rear Wheel Bearing Renewal

How difficult is a rear wheel bearing renewal on the W210?

Without the proper tool to extract the flange, then the tools to R&R the bearing, you can just as well forget it.

But, with the proper tools, is it straightforward? I haven't yet checked the procedure at Startekinfo.com.

The EPC exploded view shows essentially a sealed bearing assembly and a lock clip. Is it less difficult than a W123?

It's about the same as a 123, as far as recall:
Remove half-shaft, remove flange with a hydraulic press tool (good luck with a slide hammer-type tool), then usually the inner race has seperated from the rest of the bearing and should be removed from the flange with a collet type remover (or you can caveman it off with a torch and chisel), then the clip and bearing is removed about the same as the 123.
Of course I left out the details like removing the wheel, caliper, rotor, parking brake assm, etc., and the bolts holding the half-shaft to the differential flange can be a real bear, and should be replaced.
Actually the one main difference I can now think of is that on the 123, you can't simply unbolt the inner half of the half-shaft from the differential, maybe that makes the job a little easier on the 210. I still wouldn't want to do it without the hydraulic flange removal tool, the collet puller for the inner race, and the bearing press tool.
