1998 C230 part upgrade
I purchased a new intake pipe part # 111 140 28 12 ( fits between AMM and throttle ) for my 1998 C230, the flexible elbow part of the intake on the new part had a nipple the protrudes at the inner apex of the fitting, this nipple is an open hole with no filter.
My older part that I am replacing did not have this open nipple, the inner apex of the joint on the older part is smooth with no nipple. Anyone know if this new part is an upgrade from the original style? TIA Scott Baltimore 1998 C230 |

WRONG PART !!!
You could plug it with something. Any " un-metered " air, introduced after the AMM, will make for a very confused computer. ![]()

Yes, and in addition to the introduction of unmetered air into the engine creating all sorts of running and mixture problems, there will also be unfiltered air entering the engine.
