tail-light on 1999 SL500
I have one side that is noticeabley not as bright as the other side.I switched bulbs from side to side and the difference would appear to be in the connector ......... I guess. Anyone experience this?

What car do you have? Diesel exhaust will make the port side light seem dimmer as soot accumulates on the light.
Try taking the lens out and cleaning it. Water can get in there and cause mold if the gasket leaks. Mike PS- put your car-model-year in your signature.

Greetings from one junior member to another, rla. This is my first post on the forum as well.
Just wondering -- are *all* the lights dimmer on one side than the other -- i.e., do the brake, back-up and turn signal lights share the same malady as the tail light? I haven't graduated beyond the W123 models myself, but on my car there are separate hot wires to the bulbs but just one wire to ground. So if all your bulbs on one side show the same symptom, I'd have a good look at the ground connection. Cheers Russ Maki Ixonia, Wis. '82 300td/300cd '71 250/8 |
