The aux fan in my 16 valve is not running. When I turn on the a/c, shouldnt the fan also turn on? The clutch controlled fan on the inside of the engine compartment engages and also engages into the high speed mode as when the a/c is turned on. However, the aux fan doesnt turn on. What can I do to test if the motor is bad? The fuse for the fan isnt blown. Thanks, Joe

The auxillary fan is not controlled by the compressor clutch. It is controlled by pressure in the A/C system. After it runs above 250 or so, the fan will come on low.
You will need to bridge the high pressure switch connector to test. ------------------ Benzmac: Donnie Drummonds 300E ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |

Can you tell me how to bridge the pressure switch without causing any electrical problems? Thanks, Joe
