190E Door Handle Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the rear outside door handle for a 190E. One of my door pulls does not work, or should I say, the door only opens from the inside. Strange. Any help on the removal procedure would be really helpful. ThankS!

How to remove driver's door handle....

1) Take off the two plastic plugs in the
door seem.

2) Use an allen key to remove lock plug.

3) Insert your car key into keyhole turn
clockwise to about 60 degrees.

4) You will now carefully have to pull
and wiggle the lock tumbler out of
place.

5) With the tumbler out, you can press
the handle backward (to the right on
the drivers door) and pull. The
handle should come out from the
rear portion first.

6) The back handles obviously don't
have a keyhole tumbler. Removal is
much the same as the front doors
though.

It sounds like the handle is not able to grab the lock lever to open the door latch assembly. Remove and reinstall and you should be okay. If the handle assembly itself is warped or broken (cracked) you should replace it.

Good luck in your service!
